Gilgul Overview

Description

  • Gilgul is a compatible extension of Java.
  • It introduces a new view on the concept of object-identity.
  • It allows for dynamic object replacement by simultaneously rerouting a set of references as an atomic operation.
  • It thus provides means for unanticipated software evolution.

Available Tools

  • The Gilgul Compiler, which is implemented in 100% pure Java. It can be used on any platform that supports JDK 1.3, and it has been tested on Windows and Linux.
  • The Gilgul Runtime Environment, which is an extensions of the Kaffe OpenVM . It can be used to execute Gilgul programs on Linux platforms. (It may work on other platforms as well, but has only been tested on Linux.)
